Dear friend, Lord Byng Gallery (3939 West 16th Avenue, Vancouver) will be holding their annual artshow during May 30th to June 16th. This show began as a way of connecting local artists with high school students; it has grown into a celebration and showcase of the art and creativity of the Byng Community. The opening reception will be at 6-9pm, May 31st. I will be showing my artwork in the exhibition. Admission is free. Welcome to our art show and enjoy the artistic inspiration! Look forward to seeing you in person!
Artists in Our Midst is an organization of artists dedicated to promoting the visual arts by creating a network of artist who create exhibitions and other events on the west side of Vancouver, B.C. It is the first of such groups in Vancouver. Every spring, Artists in Our Midst hosts an Art Walk of artist studios that are open to the public. The event begins with The Roundhouse Exhibit, a dynamic two day group exhibit and sale at the Roundhouse Community Centre. This popular and well attended community event is an opportunity to meet local artists and other art patrons.
I studied at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, Canada.
I primarily work with oil and acrylic, enjoying the vibrancy and texture of the colors. I also paint with Chinese watercolor and ink, watching the colors flow and mingle freely to create wonderful imageries. Inspiration for my work comes from a deeply felt connection with nature, the interplay of colors and shapes of objects around me. Color, light, and shadow, which fascinate me the most, get me going in a creative pursuit.
For ten years now, I have conducted art lessons for young people. I love to share what I know with the students through classes and workshops. I hope I can share with the viewer the same beauty and feeling painting has brought me.
